Review:
I really liked this book but I didn't absolutely love it and think that it was the best book in the world. I liked the story plot a lot  but I really wish the author would have expanded upon how they fell in love. It was just like boom now Malcolm and Katrina are in love. That part bothered me but I enjoyed the small town feel and the coffee-shop idea. After reading this book I was craving a nice cup of coffee. If you like love storys, fantasy, and a small town feel then you should definitely check this book out! Happy Reading!

I saw it on Friday and couldn't believe any movie could really be that funny but I guess SNL can pull off anything! Want to watch a comedy for date night? Totally rent Superstar!

My Review:


When this book came out I was so excited because I absolutely loved the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and I loved the idea of The Septembers ten years later. Even though Tibby, Lena, Bee, and Carmen are older and farther apart Brashares did a very good job of keeping them true to their past mannerisms. Lena  was still quiet, artistic, and hopelessly lonely without Kostos or her friends. Bee was still free and constantly moving, always trying to find the brightest place on the Earth. And of course Carmen was still dramatic and lovely as an aspiring actress in New York. And Tibby, personally my favorite character was the reason that brought the four friends from each corner of their different lives together once again. Each character grew in a way that only Brashares can present through friendship. There were some twists that had me bawling and laughing at the same time. In a way this novel this book showed me the true meaning of friendship and the beauty of people caring about you enough to not let you stray to far away. If you fell in love with the sisters as teenagers, you will love them even more ten years later! Happy Reading!

Review:
Cassandra Clare does it again! She dragged me away from my boring mundane life into the world of the exciting Shadowhunters. Except now the time period is in the 1800's which I thought was an interesting spin off  towards the modern Mortal Instruments Series. Everything about this book kept me so intrigued! I loved all of the characters but I think my favorite was Jem. He was kind and he absolutely adored Tessa but he also had his secret of his own that keeps you wondering throughout the whole book trying so desperately to find out what is wrong with him. I don't know if it was just me but Will reminded me a lot of Jace except he had black hair instead of blonde. All in all I was thoroughly impressed and was pretty happy that Magnus Bane was still in the story. If you loved the Mortal Instruments series than you will absolutely adore The Infernal Devices! I am a huge Vampire Academy and was so sad when the series ended but when I heard Richelle Mead is spinning off with another character I was relieved. I really really can't wait to devour this book.

Review: Redeeming Love

My Thoughts:
I absolutely fell in love with this novel! When my friend Sarah told me to read it I was a little hesitant at first due to the whole prostitution and religious elements to it but came to find that Rivers revealed the power of God's love through the darkness of the prostitution. When finished reading it I came to reflect on my own past relationships and how shallow their love for me was compared to the beautiful love Michael had for his beloved, Angel. Honestly, I wish there where more men like Michael in this world. Michael was the epitome of a gentlemen, he was kind, gentle but very hardworking, and he found beauty in everyone.

At the beginning of the novel I pitied Angel because she was so weak and because she was so trapped in the bonds of prostitution but towards the end I absolutely fell in love with her character. She became so strong and beautiful, everything a heroine should be in the end. She has to fight a lot internally a lot due to her lack of confidence in her strength and the lack of hope of ever fully being loved. I think many people can relate to her character because many  women come down on themselves everyday never feeling quite good enough to reach the world's expectations but at the end of the novel the reader comes to find that anything is possible as long as they can put their trust in God.

All in all I recommend this book to everyone. This book can teach a women how to see herself as truly free and a man how to love unconditionally. I hope you give this book a shot because I know I absolutely adored  it.

My Thoughts:

I literally just finished this book about an hour ago, and I can say without hesitation that it is one of the best books I have ever read. It is one of those things that make you sit back and think about life, reconsider what you know, and evaluate who you want to become. I realize that that is an incredibly loaded statement, but aside from being a book that was enjoyable, it was a book that had the ability to make me feel. I smiled, I laughed, and I teared up while reading this book.

I will give a fair warning that this story is quite a diversion from the paranormal romance/ fantasy books I usually post about. Granted this book is fiction, but it touches on some emotional topics. It has some violence and down right cruel people in it, something that made me cringe, but at the same time I couldn't turn away from because I genuinely cared about Kate and wanted to know how her story would end.

I just can't say enough good things about this book. Oh, and did I mention I finished it in less than a day between doing school work and stuff around the house? Yeah, it's that good!

Definitely add this to your reading list!

I Am Number Four

I actually finished this book a week ago and had every intention of getting this post out before the movie came out, BUT life got in the way, so it's a little late. Sorry!

My Thoughts:

I realize that the above summary is a bit vague (it is the one on the book jacket, I promise), so I will give you a bit more insight into the plot. There were originally nine aliens that escaped from the planet Lorien to Earth when their planet was under attack. A curse was placed over these nine in order to protect them since they continue to be hunted by the same group that attacked and destroyed their home planet; they can now only be hunted in order. The first three are dead, and Number Four (our main character) is next, and that is really where our story begins.

Personally I love love LOVED this book. I know that sound a bit extreme, but it is now one of my new favorite book, one I might add that I've recently been forcing my friends (including Katie) to read.

This book had a bit of everything; action, adventure, humor, and romance. The writing style was more simplistic in my opinion, but the story was still told in a way that constantly had glued to this book. The main character Number Four, or John Smith as he goes by was a genuinely like-able character that I never felt annoyed with.

I did read some mixed reviews on Barns & Nobel's website, but I highly recommend that you at least pick up the book and flip through a few pages!

Review: Last Sacrifice

My thoughts: 

Now if you haven't read any of the books in the Vampire Academy series then I seriously suggest that you do but you might want to wait to read my review of the last book. I probably won't put any spoilers in my review but hey no promises!

Once again Rose exceeded my expectations and totally kicked some butt. Not only does she have to free her name, deal with her love life(Adrian and Dimitri), but she also has to try and secure a spot on the Council for Lissa. I honestly loved her as a character so much that I am quiet disappointed and sad that the series ended although I think Richelle is continuing Vampire Academy just in another characters point of view.

I really love love love this series though! It gives Twilight a run for its money and in my opinion it won in the first book. There was never a dull moment ever in this book, in the whole series. It keeps you on your toes. Also for me I fell in love with all of the characters and the story plot. And I would love to see this series to hit the big screen. Those movies would be totally kick-ass.

So I would love to applaud Richelle Mead for a great series that fall in love with the Vampire World all over again! I Hope if you haven't read this series that you get your hands on it as soon as you can and love it as much as I did! Happy Reading!

My Thoughts: 
 I really enjoyed this book. I found it to be an interesting take on an almost impossible love  story centered around Michele Windsor who lives in the present and Philip of 20th century New York. While I'm aware that time-travel isn't exactly a new concept, I really believe it was what made this book great. Alexandra Monir really did her homework on life in old New York, creating a convincing setting with the details she described.


The writing of this novel wasn't without flaw, but I will give that a pass because the story was still told and it was fantastic, illustrating a beautiful story of love conquering all boundaries, including time.
